ACBE, Business Report Introduction

Corporate Social Responsibility is how a business has an obligation to, actively seek for the betterment of society, by positively representing these social issues in the business’ actions. “We are working hard to build a culture of equality committed to greater female representation in leadership and key technical roles” (Optus, 2019). Optus a business which acts in CSR it is important for the constant improvement in societal issues especially gender equality, as it is such a pressing gap evident in society. The CSR issue and SDG of Gender equality is about how women and girls experience detrimental treatment, this being through unequal standards and acts of malice (United Nations, 2019). Gender equality is especially evident through the representation of females within the workplace, as Optus is a progressive company the business strives to promote fairness and equality through the workplace. Gender Equality is “a fundamental human right” (United Nations, 2019), as a SDG it is Optus CSR to address this issue through analysis and determine action, through recommendations on how to act on this issue in the future.
